Hey everyone,

So I was redirrected here by a friend for the ultimate excel information exchange. I've been a bit rough around the edges on some subjects lately, I've got this excel workbook test. Its very short, and believe it involves Vlookups, dropdown tabs etc.

I wanted to upload it and if people can complete it and send either a link back or email to Removed e-mail address - Moderator that would be great. I want to get different peoples perspectives and solving methods on this simple assignment. It shouldnt take more than 15-20 min for most people.

Thank you!

Welcome to the Board!

We don't really encourage asking folks to go off the board to file sharing sites. First off very few people will open a file from an untrusted source, second, of the remaining people who might, you limit yourself to the number of people who can see your situation at any given time.

Check out the link beneath my sig for how to post shots of your sheet. You'll get many more eyes on your question if the examples are here.

How much are they paying you (us) to take the test?

Seriously if this is a test that you need to complete in order to get a job, you're doing yourself, your potential employer, and other applicants a huge disservice by having the people on this forum complete the test for you.

You may want to look at the sum, sumif, sumifs, and sumproduct formulas to get you started as all could be used in some way to help you get the answer you're looking for.

If I had to guess, the potential employer probably isn't looking for the "best" solution, just that you can come up with the correct solution.

Just my $.02 at least.

Good luck!

Unfortunately, that's way too small for me to read. If you download the HTML Maker from the link, you'll find two files. The first is the HTML Maker add-in which converts your Excel selections into HTML code which the board will render. The second is a Word document with instructions on how it install and use it. The nice thing about it is that someone else can copy and paste your screen shot into Excel and work with it.

If that's the case, then surely there is some kind of textbook, lecture notes, or something along those lines that should guide you in the right direction.

Give it a stab, and if you don't feel you're getting the correct answer, then post back what you tried and I'm sure people will be more than willing to help get your issue worked out.
