Excel Facts

Back into an answer in Excel
Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
What differentiates the two tests you mention? I mean, in what scenario is it A10+1 and in what scenario is it A10+B1?

A short example - as well as the desired result - will help us to understand.

Your formula suggests that A10 is to be changed by the formula in A1 -- that won't happen. A formula in Excel can't do anything except return a value to the cell in which it appears.
