Expanding a cell

Simple question for you today. I have a cell that information is going into, sometimes this information is a paragraph. I have wrap text activated on the cell but when there is a lot of information in the cell all I'm seeing is ############ across the cell. Is there a setting somewhere that will expand the cell so the information can be viewed? I don't want to use the shrink to fit option cause it will be way to small to read. I appreciate any help.

Thanks

Excel Facts

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
With the cell selected press CTRL + 1, on the Alignment tab check Wrap Text then click OK.

I don't think I've ever seen this happen before. If wrap text is enabled and your data is in fact text, Excel is not supposed to display ######## (value too long error), it's supposed to break the data over multiple lines.

Even if there's some sort of reason for the information not to fit, it will still not display the value too long error. It will simply display only a part of your data.

Could you give an example of the data that could go into a cell?

I don't think this exists within Excel. You generally have to adjust column width and row height manually, which is one of the major frustrations in using Excel (at least, for me). There is a simple trick facilitate this process though:

If you want to adjust the width of column B to 'auto'-fit the text, move your cursor to the separator between the headers for column B and column C. The cursor shape will change to indicate you can drag this line back and forth. Don't drag. Double-click the separator.

Well I was afraid someone was going to say that. lol I guess I'll just have to expand the column width and row height a little and hope that that data being put in that column is not too large. I have figured out how to get rid of the ######## that displays. I just changed the formatting from text to general and it got rid of it.
