I posted before about external links, but have done more investigtion and would like to know if anyone can replicate and explain what I am seeing.
I created Workbook B, and in one cell, made the formula simply equal a cell in Workbook A.
In another cell, I did a VLOOKUP that references Workbook A.
I then saved and closed Workbook B and did the same with A.
I then emailed B to myself and then opened it from the incoming email attachment. (I wanted to replicate the behavior of some of my users.)
When I look at the opened workbook, the cell with the formula that simply points to Workbook A is fine, and displays the associted value. However, the vlookup cell shows a #N/A error. What I want is to see the value that was there when the Worksheet was lst saved.
Why would things work for the first formual, but not the vlookup?
I did not request for any links to be updsted. i am using Excel 2007.
