I have a specific need to export or pull the day number for a date. All the other numbers in the list below are auto generated based off the first cell date "#'s through:"

User inputs date in a cell : 8/21/2011
And in the cell below I need to output: 21

I cannot for the life of me figure this one out.

The example I'm working with is this...

#'s through: 8/21/2011
August: 21
day in quarter: 52
total days in quarter: 92
Total Days in Month: 31

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.

Try this...

A2 = 8/21/2011

Enter this formula in A3:

=DAY(A2)
