2011-05-26 21:02:11.840

Without converting it to TEXT TO COLUMNS how can i derive the date and time. for certain calculations i required the date and for certian others i require the time hh:mm:ss

Is there a way out ?

Thanks for your time and attention.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Is that a serial date? If so you can use the INT function to extract the date, and deduct that from the original value to extract the time.

Dear Andrew, did not get your question when you say "is it a serial date? Do you mean to say continous..? if so, it may or may not be. but that can be 'sort'ed . If not any issue, can you brief me please

I meant is it a real date, not a text entry that looks like a date? You can use the ISNUMBER function to check - it will return TRUE if it's a serial date.
