I need to extract initials from a column of names to form a column of initials e.g. Joe to J, Joe David to J D, Joe David George to J D G, etc. Any ideas please.

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
Hi, welcome to the board!

Try the following UDF:
Code:
Function Initials(r As String) As String
With CreateObject("vbscript.regexp")
    .Pattern = "[^A-Z]"
    .Global = True
    Initials = .Replace(r, "")
End With
End Function
