Fast method for Searching Memo Field

Hello,

I'm new to Access2000 and am not sure how to approach a problem. I have a table called ImportBatch and one called GoodData and a final called SearchResults. What I need to be able to do is take the first record in ImportBatch and read the searchstring field. I would take that searchstring and search a memo field in GoodData. The matching GoodData records need to be written to the searchresults table with the search name and criteria from the ImportBatch table. After GoodData has been searched, then perform the search on the next record in the ImportTable until there are no more records in the ImportTable

What would be the best function to use for this type of search?

I think that you are going to have to use code for this.
You will need to set up a recordset for the ImportBatch table and loop through its records to get your search string. Nested within the loop you will need to create an recordset using openRecordset with your GooddData Table with a where clause in the SQL made up from the criteria for the current record of ImportBatch. This will limit the record set to the records you need, which you can then step through writing the details to your SearchResult table as you go.

Hope that makes sense

Ok, I'll give this a try. I'm not sure the diffference between the recordset and openRecordset.
