I seem to have managed to double the size of my file upon the last save

when i go into each of the tabs, the scroll bar seems to indicate that there is data contained all the way down to row 65thousand - ie when i scroll to row 3000 which is where the data finished, the scroll bar is only slightly down the page,

however, i have selected all rows from 3000 downwards and all columns from h onwards and deleted the content as well as clearing it but the size still remains the same

on an older version of the sheet where it was normal size the scroll bar reached the bottom of the page once i was at row 3000

so this seems to indicate that there is still some data below row 3000 even though i have tried both deleting the entire rows and clearing the content as well

any ideas appreciated

thanks

Hi,

I have solution how to reduce your file size. you can save it in binary format(excel binary workbook). it very effective way of reducing file size.

not sure why size increased though.

Choose all the "empty" cells that are no longer in use and choose

Edit>Clear>All

Save the workbook and it should reduce your file size significantly. Also if the file is shared, it typically gets really big really quick. You can unshare the workbook and reshare it which will help reduce the file size as well.
