Hello

I want to be able to fill a template with data i have in another sheet

I have attached an example of template in sheet 1 and the data i need it use in sheet 2

I have not got a clue how to do this so I end up with tiles of the template with the data input already.....

I have coloured in the boxes on sheet 1 that i need it to take from sheet 2

If someone could do this, i will supply beer tokens :)

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
You could use vlookup for each cell which will pull through the data depending what number you type in;

Yeah this would work. Say sheet 3 use template from sheet 1. Data from sheet 2 and populates sheet 3

This possible?

Yes, this is possible. But how many sheets would you be looking? A workbook for excel 2003 has a default max of 255 sheets. Would this suit your needs?

If you are using 2007 it will be limited by available memory.

If so, a macro could be used to do what you are looking for.

im running 2010 on mac and 2013 in office

i only need 3 sheets

as i would copy in new data from new products we make in sheet 2, this would use the template in sheet 1, and then populate sheets 3, i would copy this and use it how i need it, then close it down for use another day

I might be able to automate the process for you so at the click of a button it will read all your data in the product list and create the templates for you. Leave it with me.

excellent thanks,

also some points to take into consideration if possible :)

the data in template might change but layout would be the same, as different models have different options

again thanks for doing, as i said ill transfer £20 for your time!

s31teg,

You don't need to worry about the cash. (Thanks for the offer though). Most of are on here as we like the challenge!

I think I've got the solution you need regardless of the template layout.

I have some code which will read all your data, create a new sheet, autofill the ID number and thereafter populate the fields you identified using vlookup.

Just doing a final bit of tinkering.

I'll post the code for the benefit of others but I'll add a link for you to download the workbook.
