Excel Facts

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
If ActiveX button then just right-click and pick Properties and look for the BackColor property. You can pick from System colors or click the Palette tab for a palette of standard colors.

If a Forms button, I think you actually have to edit the system colors and change the color for all buttons. This impacts all applications and is probably not what you want to do.

If it's a Forms control the Font color is your only option. If you use an ActiveX button you can change the button color through Properties-->Back Color-->Palette.

Where is the button from - Forms toolbar or Controls toolbar. If the former I don't think you can. If the latter in Design Mode right click the button and select Properties.
