Hi,

I have a folder with numerous excel files (5 years * 12 monthly files). Within powerquery i only ever want to import the last 12 months worth of data.

Obviously i can use the date filters when the data has been imported but is it possible to filter before i expand the table contents? My query would be much quicker if i could do this.

Of course, i could just only ever have 12 months of files in the folder and update monthly but if there's a way i can get around this with powerquery then i will take that option.

Thanks

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
Does the file name contain a period or data?

Extract the date/period from file name and then filter.
