Hi

How do I find and replace data in just one column or row of a spreadsheet without it working on the entire sheet?.

Excel Facts

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
Select the entire row or column and press control + F

give the proper inputs. they will be replaced in one go

Thanks. I already know how to do a basic Find and Replace but for some reason even if I highlight one column it carries out the task on the entire worksheet. I need to know how to lock it down to only doing the Find and Replace on the column I want it to.

It seems to have changed since I moved onto Excel 2007 as I'm sure it didn't do this on my older version.
