I have a workbook with over 50 tabs and there is one external link showing up that was probably copied from a previous version. How can I find which sheet and which cell it is in before I break the link?

Thanks
Luke

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Select from the Edit menu Find (Ctrl+F)

On the Find dialog:
  • Find what: [
  • Within: Workbook
  • Lookin: Formulas
  • Match entire cell contents: unchecked
  • Click on Find Next

AlphaFrog,

Thank you, you saved me hours worth work.

It would be a lot easier if Microsoft would just have something in that little link box that checks for external links.

thank you again
Luke
