Find date closest to but less than date entered

Hi there,


I have a list of dates and corresponding outstanding balances owing at that date.


A1 B1
A1 27-03-14 $500
A2 27-04-14 $400
A3 26-05-14 $300
A4 27-06-14 $200
A5
A6 22-06-14 (<<==this is entered Date Value)




I want to be able to find the last outstanding balance BEFORE the date I entered in cell A6

Would appreciate your help. Cheers
