Dear all I am not able to find the "*" (multiplier) in my work sheet by find command, how to do this? I want to change all * by x for easy reference to others.

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.

Try Substitute:
Code:
=SUBSTITUTE(A1,"*","x")

Edit: Hm I now see what you mean. You mean Find via Edit menu...Can't find it either :(

You can use the find command.

Edit-> Find, Find What = * (No quotes), Look In formulas.

But if you are trying to replace the * with an X in a formula, Excel will give you a string. It won't be able to do any actual multiplication.

HTH,

Hi,

if you want to look for * - try in the search window:

Code:
~*

Already I have done like '=, but still the * will remain there. I want to replace * with x only.
