Find the longest word in a column?

I tried to use an array formula to find the longest spelling word in a column, but this return me something that's not the longest word. Please help, thank you.


=OFFSET(A1,MATCH(MAX(LEN(A3:A112)),LEN(A3:A112),0)-1,0,1,1)
 

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.

Control+shift+enter, not just enter...

=INDEX(A2:A10,MATCH(MAX(LEN(A2:A10)),LEN(A2:A10),0))

Adjust the range to suit.

You are welcome. There is the issue of having many items of the maximum length...
