I want to use MATCH to find the first occurance of a blank cell in a range.

I've tried MATCH("",A1:A50,0)

But it does not work.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

MikeG

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
Or if you have formulas in the Range(A1:A50) returning ""

=MATCH(TRUE,INDEX(A1:A50="",0),0)

M.

Shouldn't need INDEX.

=MATCH(TRUE,A1:A50="",0)

Confirm with CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER rather than just Enter.
