Finding max value amongst consecutive rows

I have the following:

I know this sounds complicated, but here's what I want to do. I need to find the maximum value under each Week interval for each variable for each person. For example, for Tom, variable A, week1, the maximum is 8. In essence I want an ouput to look like this:

I don't know how to use macros or VB scripts, so can this be done with Excel functions? Thank you all in advance!

confirmed with Ctrl+Shift+Enter
(hold down both Ctrl and Shift keys and hit Enter)

copy across till K2 and down

Great that you followed Aladin's suggestion and solved out your problem using Pivot Tables.

I only suggested a possible alternative using formulas.
