Gurus,
I have a pivot chart that I want to update but forgot where the pivot table is. How do I find the pivot table quickly? Thanks!

Excel Facts

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
In Excel, you can find the source pivot table of a pivot chart as follows:

  1. Select the pivot chart that you want to find the source pivot table for.
  2. On the Ribbon, go to the "PivotChart Tools" tab (usually called "Chart Tools" or "Analyze" in newer Excel versions).
  3. In the "Data" group, click the "Select Data" button. This will open the "Select Data Source" dialog box.
In the "Select Data Source" dialog box, you'll see the name of the pivot table under "Chart data range." This will help you identify the source pivot table for your pivot chart.

Alternatively, you can also right-click on the chart and select "Select Data" to open the same dialog box.

This method allows you to quickly find the source pivot table for your pivot chart without needing to manually search through your worksheet.

I'm having trouble with finding the chart within the particular tab. Is there anyway to further narrow down the search range? Thanks!
