You guys are the best. I need to find the number of text values in a range of cells that contain a certain text string. To be specific, some of the text strings may contain the string "32" with no quotes, as in pos32.exe, and I need a count of those. Many thanks...

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
hi

=Countif(YrRnage,"*32*")

should do,
but it counts 132, 324 etc as well.

You could include a column with this formula and then copy it down and add them:

=IF(ISERROR(SEARCH("32",A18)),0,1)

You can also use "find" instead of "search" if you need it case sensitive.
