Hi there dear folks,

Is it possible to find out the middle character in a word which is written in a specific cell in excel.

I mean let's say, I wrote "MrExcel" in a cell and I want to discover the "x" with some formula..

any idea please?

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
=MID(A1,ROUND(LEN(A1)/2,0),1)

Will pull 4th char in both 6 & 7 char string (like MrExcel) -- assumes cell is whole (ie no blanks - MrExcel not Mr_Excel)

Which language version of Excel and do you normally use ; instead of , in your formulas? If so try:
Code:
=MID(A1;ROUND(LEN(A1)/2;0);1)
