How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
Hello,

One approach would be to use a corresponding set of cells (perhaps the adjacent column) to hold values that represent the time or date "stamp" when each watched cell was last changed.

Once you have that, you could use Conditional Formatting to highlight the cells that have a stamp that is more than 5 days old.

If you would like some help doing that, please explain a bit more about your process. Are you the only person using this workbook or it accessible to many people?

Excel isn't intended for secure applications, so I wouldn't recommend this unless it is acceptable to you that the system could be overriden.
