Hi. A user has data that looks like below for example:

00000-174
0000-1234
7890

How can I remove the leading zero, leave the negative sign and make that a true negative number while leaving the positives as is?

I was able to convert the negative using:

=VALUE(RIGHT(F1,LEN(F1)-FIND("0-",F1)))

But for the positives I get #VALUE.

Thanks

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
How about
=IF(ISNUMBER(A2),A2,REPLACE(A2,1,FIND("-",A2)-1,"")*1)
