I would like to force cells E28:R42 to stay on the screen when I move the scroll bar horizontally. I have tried messing around with 'freeze panes' but it doesn't work for what I'm trying to do. Please suggest a solution for me.

Thanks

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Explain what you did with Freeze panes, and what results that gave you, and what way it wasn't suitable.

If I freeze panes on column E, when I scroll across obviously the whole of column E then F, then G disappear off the screen. If I freeze panes on row 27 and scroll across then I still lose cells E28:R28

Make E28 the top-left visible cell, then select say cell S43 and then freeze panes. Tell me if that's what you want.

Sorry no that doesn't work. When I follow those instructions I cannot see Rows 1-27 as the spreadsheet won't scroll up.

E28:R42 are at the bottom of the spreadsheet and I want this part of the table to stay visible when I scroll the top part of the worksheet (A1:AD26)horizontally

Why didn't you say all that in your original posting? Frozen panes freeze the top and left parts of the screen ... I suggest you play around with split screens to see if that does what you want.
