I'd like to forecast the number of items processed for the rest of 2011, but I'd like to include 2010 in the calculation. Any advice on how I can do this is appreciated.

Thanks, Matt

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
There are various types of forecasting linear etc If you say the type of forecast you making, sales, weather etc etc

Hi,

Change your data months so they are in a format that includes the year i.e 01/01/2010, 01/02/2010 etc and take out the totals row. The enter the formula into the cell below 721,689 enter

=forecast(the cell that has june 2011,the cell range from 808,812 to 721,869,the cell range from january 2010 to April 2011).

i.e.
=FORECAST(A18,B2:B17,A2:A17)

This will give you a linear forecast.
