Format date as MMM-YY in chart axis from full date

The pivot table has the format I want to go in the chart. All of the source data is a full date but they are all month end dates, 6/30/2020, 7/31/2020, etc. The date on the axis is cumbersome and needs to be shorter. I have tried setting the date format for the access in the chart and it doesn't do anything.

Thoughts?

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
