Hi all, is there any way you can format a cell that currently shows a measurement of time in minutes and seconds and points of a second, eg;

01:39.6

to show the time only in seconds, ie 99.6

Regards, Paul

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.

You can format it as a number to show the fraction of a day it represents. Multiply that number by 24*60*60 to convert it to seconds. I don't know of any way to do this directly by formatting only.

The cell cannot be formatted to show seconds directly, but you can show the seconds in another cell that refers to it like this (cell B1 is formatted as Number with 1 decimal place):
Excel Workbook
AB
101:39.699.6
Sheet1
