Formatting Dates in a Pivot Table

Hello,

An option in my pivot table is a column with dates. A few are "unknown." When entering this column into my pivot table and formatting it as a "date" the unknown dates are appearing as 1/0/1900. Any insight into formatting dates so that unknowns appear as "uknown"?

Help is much appreciated.

This might screw up any graphing of the data, but try a custom number format:

your date format;;;

for example

yyyy-mm-dd;;;
