Greetings,

This should be a fun little challenge... I've searched and searched, attempted and attempted. Ultimately, I think I'm stuck. Here's what I'm trying to do:

I want a number format like #,##0.## when there is a decimal
I want a number format like #,##0 when there is no decimal.

It seems simple enough but it's proving quite difficult. Two sites I found that were helpful were:

http://peltiertech.com/Excel/NumberFormats.html
http://chandoo.org/wp/2008/10/02/excel-number-formatting-tip-showing-decimals-conditionally/

If anyone can figure this one out that would be awesome!

Take care.

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
It's not simple. If you want that functionalty I think you're going to have to use the Worksheet Calculate event, and examine results and alter formats accordingly.
