Formatting Re-Created Pivot Source

Hi All,

I'm recreating a pivot tables source data by double clicking on the results row. Everything works fine except that the data shown is formated in a custom format and I need it to be displayed automatically in general format for final users, so I cannot use VBA or change it myself by hand.
I've already tried creating a Template worksheet, but this only works in new worksheets and doesn't apply to the creation of a worksheet by double clicking on a pivot table.

Does anyone know how to make the data appear automatically in general format (as it always used to)? It would also be helpful if someone knew why this is happening as to prevent it from happening again.

Thanks,

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
I'm not sure I know what you mean by "as it used to." If it worked previously and now it doesn't what changed?

If it was Excel versions then I suspect you are out of luck but from what I recall if you specify a format for a pivottable field, Excel remembers that format after subsequent refreshes of the data.

Not only nothing changed whithin Excel, but all files generated previously and after the one in question work just fine. The difference is that all other files, when recreating a pivots data source, display the fields in general format. This particular file displays all fields in a custom format.
Also, when creating a new worksheet in this particular files, all cells are also in this custom format.

Does anyone know from where does Excel obtain the format it uses on the data generated when using "Show detail" on a pivot?

Seems like the 'Normal' style in that particular workbook has changed.
