Hi Guys,

I need a formula that will calculate how many periods there are up to 01/04

e.g

There are 5 total period between the dates 01.01.2006 and 01.03.2011

I think if i take the +1 at the end the formula might work

Actually it does work if ii take the + 1 out at the end

what is the reason behind the +1 at the end and why + 275?

OK, I was assuming that all the periods were 1 year long, period 1 runs from 1/1 2006 to 31/3/2007? Is that correct? Are there any other periods which are that long or just period 1?

I think you need the +1 in some circumstances.......

I think you need the +1 in some circumstances.......

The only period that is 1 is the first period e.g

if a start date is

01/03/2010

and End date is

15/03/2010

The period will be 1 because 15/03/2010 is before the end date period which is 31/03/2010

if the end date was say 01/04/2010

then the period will be 2 because the period starts again from 01/04 to 31/03

15/03/2010 - 31/03/2010 is 1 period
and as 01/04/2010 is after 31/03/2010 this falls in to the next years charges so another period

How can have a robust formula so i dont need to add 1 on certain circumstances i.e leap years etc...or will the formula you gave is ok?

Wil i need to add the + 1 at the end?

A1 = StartDate
A2 = EndDate
