formula doesn’t work for the number format is text

My formula doesn’t work for the number was formatted and stored in cells as text. The formula will only work if I re-enter the reference number manually. Please help me create a macro to fix this problem. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

No need for a macro. Select the critical column of data and use TextToColumns.
