I like to have a formula that if today's date is the first week in any month??

Any ideas

If true then "yes"

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Since there is more than one way to define it... what do you consider to be the first week of the month? The 1st through 7th of the month no matter what day the 1st falls on? The Sunday date for the week containing the 1st of the month? One of the several other methods?

That's different from your original question. That sounds like you want yes if it's the last actual day in the month. Is this correct?

If so, then:

If you are running a a version of Excel prior to 2007, you will need to load the Analysis Toolpak for this:

=IF(TODAY()=EOMONTH(TODAY(),0),"Yes","No")

What I would like to do is if today's date is 31/08/11 :
Equals 31 then "yes" in cell A2
I think this is what you are looking for?

=IF(OR(DAY(TODAY())<8,DAY(DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY())+1,1))<8),"Yes","No")
