Formula is a Constant????

I have a spreadsheet that thinks that some cells are constants when I have really entered a formula.

Sitting on cell B27, I have cleared the contents and entered a simple formula "=e9". The string just sits there. If I go to the forumla ribbon and evaluate the formula, it tells me that the cell has a constant. What is really strange is that cell B27 just had a formula that worked. My problems started when I wanted to change the formula.

Has anybody heard of this before and is there a way to resolve it?

thank you

Brian

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
FYI - I just opened up a new row and entered the same formula. It worked perfectly. The problem seems to be isolated to that specific cell.

Very weird.

Yes, the cell was formatted as TEXT so I changed it to GENERAL. It still did not resolve right away but if I delete the contents of the cell and enter the formula again then it works properly.

Thank you for your help.
