Hello,

I've got this one working formula and I tried to modify it to use it in another column and it's not working!!

Here is the working one:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(RECORD!$A$2:$A$899=2011),--(RECORD!$B$2:$B$899="jan"),--(RECORD!$C$2:$C$899="food"),RECORD!$D$2:$D$899)

Here is the one that doesn't work:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(RECORD!$A$2:$A$899=2011),--(RECORD!$B$2:$B$899="jan"),--(RECORD!$C$2:$C$899="Transfer/withdrawal"),RECORD!$D$2:$D$899)

Can anyone tell me why it's not adding up the transfer/withdrawal in the sheet titled Record, yet the other formula sums the food spending??

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
Code:
=SUMPRODUCT(
    --(RECORD!$A$2:$A$899=2011),
    --(RECORD!$B$2:$B$899="jan"),
    --(RECORD!$C$2:$C$899="Transfer/withdrawal"),
    RECORD!$D$2:$D$899)

should also work if the conditions are met.

Would you check whether Transfer/withdrawal is spelled the same way in RECORD!$C$2:$C$899?
