From the following columns of data, any ideas for a formula that returns the number of cities in each of the six states? i.e., Iowa has 3 cities listed

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)

=COUNTIF(A:A,"Iowa")
=COUNTIF(A:A,"Illinois")
etc
