I posted a message a few days ago and got an elegant reply from Glennuk however when I set up the spreadsheet I realized I had asked the wrong question! So here we go again.

F I K
100 120 20
100 70 30-

I need to start with column F (asset value when purchased) I= asset value now
K= profit or loss. I assume any loss will appear as a negative with a -? Thanks for looking hope you can help.

Chris.

Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
So, that's
=I2-F2
isn't it? Sorry to hear that you asked the wrong question ...I'm sure we'll solve the new question.
