I have a spreadsheet with numbers and revenue for each day of the month, i added a month to date tab to add each day together at the end of the sheet. I was wondering if there is a forumla i can put in that will automatically calculate the new sheet for the new day i add in so i wont have to go through and manually add the new date in?

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
Are you in Excel 2003?

Presuming your data layout is identical in each tab...

Type of sale Value
Revenue A £xxx
Revenue B £yyy
Revenue C £zzz

Lay your summary tab out the same.

Go to Data-Consolidate

Under Reference select the cells from day 1 you wish to consolidate, click add (I also use the link to source option for audit trail).

Each day once you have created your sales figures you can add the link which will pick up the same cells on your new sheet. Hence why each sheet needs to be in the same format.

Hope this helps...

Regards

Hi,
1) In the summary sheet select Data-Consolidation.
2) Click in the Reference box, then use the mouse to highlight the cells you want to include in the Day 1 tab.
3) Then click "Add"
4) Then select the next sheet, the reference box will auto select the same cells in this sheet click "Add".

Repeat step 4 for each new day.

Check the retain links box

Click Ok.

Excell will then populate the summary date against the summary info.

Hope this helps.
