Formula that calculates the accumulated sum of a number

I am trying to make a formula that takes a number ex 6, and then adds 6+5+4+3+2+1. Or if the number was 5 it would take 5+4+3+2+1.

The only formula I can find that looks like anything I need is the Faculty formular, but the problem is that this formula does this: 5*4*3*2*1, it multiplies instead of addition.

For 5 try

=SUM(ROW(A1:A5))

confirmed with CTRL + Shift + Enter.

Thx it works, I had a bit of a translation problem because I use a different language than English.

But it works fine, thank you.

Problem is how do I get the formula to change as the number changes, I dont need it for 5 only, the number can be different (Between 1 and 10)

Sum is:

=0.5n(n+1)

so:

=0.5*5*(5+1)

=15

Try this:
=(A2+1)/2*A2
