i want to know is there any formula in excel that return the differnence in between two different dates in hours for example
date-1 is 10 april,2010 and date-2 is 14 april,2010 and when we subtract the date-1 from date-2 the answer should be 96 hours as there is 4 days in between two days and then 4*24 hours/day= 96 hours.

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Try something like this...
=ABS(A1-A2)*24

Note: Excel may automatically format the cell with this formula as a date. If it does, you can change its format back to General or Number.
