Hi,

I got the following problem - looking for a solution without using VB

Column A Has a bunch of IDs (say 2000 unique)
Column D has a bunch of IDs (about 200 all of which are present in columnA)
Column E has a bunch of sums associated with the ID in column D.

Now how do I make it so that a formula will look up the ID in column D and when it finds the same ID in column A, will place the corresponding sum from E into the empty column B next to the matching ID.

I just want to be able to drag the formula along column B and for it to do all the associations and matching :)

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
thanks, but this doesn't work. when you drag the formula along the corresponding cell numbers change and it doesn't account for the range as well as the sum value it has to place

I'm wondering if it might be this in B2, copied down.

=VLOOKUP(A2,$D$1:$E$250,2,0)

If none of the suggestions are what you need, then perhaps you could try to explain again with a bit more detail.
