Formula to Sum quantities by part number?

Hello,

I have 3 Columns with part number, description and quantity. Some of the part numbers are duplicates with different quantities. Is there a formula or VBA code where I can sum up the total quantity and still grab the the part number, description and total quantity and paste it into another sheet?

I've used the Subtotal feature, but the layout is not what I want. I have a lot of lines with duplicates and different quantities and it's going to be a pain in doing this manually.

Example:

Part Description Part# Quantity
Pen ABCD 2
Paper BCDE 1
Pen ABCD 5
Markers CDE1 3
Pen ABCD 2

Have you considered to run a pivot table on your data?

Yes, I did run a pivot table, but it only gives me information for the quantity and part number. I need to get it show all 3 lines. Part number, description and quantity. Any help is appreciated!

A1:C6 houses the sample you provide.

Select A1:B6 and run Advanced Filter with the Unique records only option checked. The results of such a run are placed here as shown above in E:F.

Once the unique records are done, you can invoke in G2:

=SUMIF($B$2:$B$6,F2,$C$2:$C$6)

and copy the formula down as far as needed.
