I can't get any formula's to work that are placed in ranges beyond Column Z (ie AA, AB, etc).

If I put a formula in the cell it just shows what I typed instead of the result

Example AA42 is "=$AA$40*$AA$41" however, it does not perform the calculation, but merely displays the formula. There are no spaces before the = sign and I've also tried it without the "$"'s embedded.

Can anyone help ?

*note AA41 and 42

Hi Aladin,
That worked like a charm.. any idea why that happened though ? Will I need to do this whenever I place a formula beyond Column Z ? or was this just a fluke ?

Thanks

The cells are, I suppose, inadvertently or maybe as a result of text returning formulas formatted as text. Set the format of not yet used cells in the region to General to avoid future problems.

You sir, are brilliant.. and absolutely correct..

The worksheet is created dynamically from composite data contained in several other workbooks. The chart can vary dramatically in length and is created by copying blocks of data.

If the previous report is longer then the current report the values were deleted, but not the formats. Some of the copied data is specifically set to TEXT and it coincidentally happens to be in the same cells that the formulas are placed in.

I will redo the clear code to also eliminate the existing cell formats in addition to the data..

Thanks so much..

John
