forumula to extract last three digits in a cell - but eliminating any leading zeros

I need help with a formula to return only the last 3 digits of a cell, but in an instance where the last 3 digits would contain any leading zeros (054, or 007) remove the leading zeros so that only the digits which are greater than zero are returned (54, or 7). I was using the right function which works great giving me the last 3 digits, but I am unable to eliminate the leading zeros. Thanks in advance for any help.....
