Freeze points and screen zoom get reset when file is closed and opened

Whenever I close my worksheet, when I open it again all of the freeze points and screen zoom have been reset. This is a large (for me) workbook with lots of sheets, and several sheets link to external data. Guessing it has something to do with the external links but really don't know. I have freeze points set so I can see the top row and left 3 columns on every sheet and they all get reset.
