Function to count loops

Usually to count loops I'll go:

For each element in a()
 
b = b + 1
 
'code
 
Next

Is there a standard function that returns the number of times a loop has occurred?

...is as efficient as one can be as far as I know.

If you use a for/next loop, the loop control variable is a counter.

What about if you're using for each?

If you need the loop count within the loop, increment a variable as tweedle suggested.

If you want to know how many times the loop will execute, use the upper and lower bounds of the array, or the Count property of the collection you're iterating.
