Hi,

Before i invest time into learning Access i thought i better ask if it can be done first!

I would like to use access as a searching database, rather then a collection (forms) database.

I aim to import various spreadsheets (tables) into Access. These will be obtained from external sources (and updated/appended to over time)

Each of these tables will have a common field eg: each will have a field called "name".

I would like to be able to create 1 search form, that would then search all the tables that has that fields. ie: Conducting a name search/query on a form will search 'name' field across 10 tables, with a basic result table to be returned with the corresponding data.

Can this be done?

Thanks in advance

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
Simple answer is Yes it can be done.

I would advice you not to try and use the word Name as this is a reserved word and Access will prevent you from using it.

Excellent, thankyou.

yes, 'Name' was just a generic example, the column/field names will be more specfic.

Thanks again!
