Generating barcodes

Where I work the computers are locked so we can't install anything. I want to create barcodes within an excel spreadsheet. I am aware of the barcode fonts but could not install new fonts on the system. Is it possible to either
a) embed the font file in the spreadsheet so that it can be accessed wherever the sheet goes, or
b) create barcodes in excel using a, or without the need of a downloadable barcode generating tool?
