I would like a macro that retrieves the file name and then truncates a certain number of characters off of the beginning and end. Say 10 on the left and 5 on the right.
Sub filename()
Dim a As Integer
Dim b As Integer
Dim File As String
a = 10
b = 5
File = ThisWorkbook.Name
File = Mid(File, a + 1, Len(File) - a - b)
Msgbox File
End Sub
Both work great!! Thanks I needed the "path" instead... Here's my final code for my reference:
Code:
Sub File_Path()
Dim a As Integer
Dim b As Integer
Dim File As String
a = 10
b = 5
File = ThisWorkbook.Path
File = Mid(File, a + 1, Len(File) - a - b)
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = File
End Sub
